Its been a while since i actually posted up a blog so i am just going to update everyone on a few things that has been happening in my life. Lets first start off by giving myself some PROPS--i am now an official member of Studio T Urban Dance. It is a dance studio in Rancho Cordova which is led by Mrs. T. She is an established woman that knows her stuff well. I espect her passion for old school & new school hip and also for keeping things authentic. I feel like this is a place i can display my talents on stage and in the studio. I gotta admit though, when i went to give a sample class my first day i was intimidated...i usually don't get nervous but i dont know what it was. I guess its because i wanted the job badly and i wanted her to see my passion. All that said, its a start of a new begginning. Studio T is going to give me the opportunity to grow as a dancer and make the people around me grow also. I have to step up my game and always stay on my feet. I can't have my students surpassing me.

NEW TUTORIAL/GUIDE RELEASED
"An introduction to becoming a bboy"
I decided to make a video/tutorial/guide that had everything in one. The way i made the tutorial is that i think in my head, "What did i want to learn when i first started?" & "What is something i can learn that is catchy?" I use those questions and i put together this guide. So what i did was i rented studio time for (2) hours and used it to film and categorize the topics i wanted to teach. I taught fundamental steps and styles that can all be combined together to create flow. I didn't want to teach separate moves, I wanted to show styles and how they can all be combined. After two hours of filming and a few days of editing i finally finished it. It is ready to download and can be purchased for $12.00. You can purchase it by emailing me.
"Intro to becoming a bboy" 20minutes approx.

First Day of Hip Hop Class!
So yesterday i gave my first official hip hop class. A total of 9 people showed up. A lot of people couldn't make it but once school starts the turnout will be a little more packed. Whoever came out to show some love, Thank you. I will be there every week on Wednesday. Show up if your trying to improve your game!
Why did i decide to start giving urban hip hop classes? I decided to start teaching because there are no that many hip hop classes offered in Sacramento like there are in LA. There are hip hop classes but some of them are just too expensive. Its a chance for me to always have studio time whether its to practice dancing or practicing teaching to my students.
I started teaching downtown once a week...it gives people a chance to just show up whether to dance/get in shape/or improve their craft. I spoke to the owner of the studio and he decided to rent it out for me once a week for a great price. Its 5 dollar Drop-In for anyone of all ages. Don't think im making a bundle of cash off this. I might be short some weeks, break even, or make a few bucks over...but no matter what its a passion and something i feel i must do!
So far its good but ill keep the people updated on class times etc

Japan Town/Ocean Beach in San Francisco! Freestyle Footage!
Yo family.
A week ago i went to San Francisco where i got a chance to spend some time with my girlfriend and get away from Sacramento for a day or so. While i was there i wanted to keep things chill but one thing i did want to do was freestyle. San Francisco is known for their tourist areas like Fisherman's Warf, Market Street, etc etc. Great Scenery.
I was looking for something different i wanted to freestyle in spots that were urban that caught my eye. I ended up doing a few session takes at some places i thought were dope. I dont know it could have just been the lighting of the vision i had but even a garbage with some boxes looked cool to dance next to. I ended up making two (2) freestyle clips. One of the clips were Japan-Town graffiti spots, hallways, and place with nice lighting. My other clip was a freestyle@Ocean Beach. I danced in a cave and on some sand. The beach is a place not suited for dancing but why not?
What i am trying to prove is that dancers can dance anywhere. It could be for a serious event or just to dance. Have fun where ever you are.

WHY AM I UP??
Alright my plans were to watch a movie and go to sleep so i can wake up for my AM shift. I head to bed@2am and decided to watch youtube videos. I ended up watching videos for 3 hours! Youtube is like my OnDemand but tonight i really zoned out.
I missed out on sleep but one thing i did catch on was mental dance. Instead of watching a monkey sniffing his ass or David After Dentist i was actually studying dance. I was watching individual dancers and tried to break down their style---what techniques are being used and how hard they are doing it. I also looked up styles like popping, king cobra, krumping, & tutting. Although im laying in my bed my head is taking mental notes for the next time i session.
I learned one thing though, by watching a tutorial on Snaking by King Cobra i realized i do not have a lot of torso movements in my dance. I feel comfortable with it i just dont use it often. I guess when you dance so much its hard to see the things your doing wrong..
well back to studying before work
UNTIL THE NEXT POST
PEACE!

Looking Back!
Recently i just start to really look at how my style started to change. I have gone through so many different style changes and come to think of it---its always going to change. Lately when i have been freestyling i notice i hear and catch the beat better than i did before.
Its kinda funny it feels like a "newfound power" but i guess its just improvement in musicality. I always told Dz once i can hear the beat i think there are so many ways i can hit it. I just havent fully discovered all the ways to hit the beat..."yet."
My style is changing into a subtle, slow, and & hard hitting. I like it because it gives me versatility to jump to different temp songs. For example, i can listen to a slow song and mellow out my movements but still make subtle hits. I can also turn the music up and make my hits hard.
I am continuing to grow as a dancer and im still hungry. It gives me the confidence to know that i can keep on growing non stop as a dancer. That some exciting shit!
Check out my old video compared to my latest freestyle. Much more control and musicality

My 1st Post
First i would like to start off with letting everyone know i do not blog! Well i guess now i do. I always thought blogging was cheesy but now i finally understand. Everyone uses it for a different purpose. I have a purpose. I want to document my life, my dance side.
As i grow as a dancer i want to know the things i am going through. I don't mind letting people into my mind--I might talk about my though process about dance is, or how i get ready for certain events, or even if i'm having trouble coming up with choreography. In addition its just another good way to get to know me, my style, the way i dance, and why i dance.
Come on an adventure and grow with me. It starts today
