An Update w/ J. Wood

Last Monday i went to Modesto to get tatted up by my brother Rabbit from Last Straw Tattoo. I had some more work done on my Samurai+Tiger piece on my right leg. Dance Adventures Downtown!

The other day me and my girl went skateboarding and knowing me i always have my camera ready to shoot. I am all about footage it doesn't matter when or where. Whenever i pass a place where the scenery is dope i HAVE to film it. I gotS that vision. There were three places i saw that caught my attention---an art wall, a parking lot with nice lighting, and a ipod-like bus stop.
The day was nice---i got my skateboarding and dancing in at the same time. Enjoy the footage
Here are some photos and a "Dance Adventure" video from that day.

Check it out folks and stay tuned for more updates.

Looking Back!

Recently i just start to really look at how my style started to change. I have gone through so many different style changes and come to think of it---its always going to change. Lately when i have been freestyling i notice i hear and catch the beat better than i did before.

Its kinda funny it feels like a "newfound power" but i guess its just improvement in musicality. I always told Dz once i can hear the beat i think there are so many ways i can hit it. I just havent fully discovered all the ways to hit the beat..."yet."

My style is changing into a subtle, slow, and & hard hitting. I like it because it gives me versatility to jump to different temp songs. For example, i can listen to a slow song and mellow out my movements but still make subtle hits. I can also turn the music up and make my hits hard.

I am continuing to grow as a dancer and im still hungry. It gives me the confidence to know that i can keep on growing non stop as a dancer. That some exciting shit!

Check out my old video compared to my latest freestyle. Much more control and musicality

My 1st Post

First i would like to start off with letting everyone know i do not blog! Well i guess now i do. I always thought blogging was cheesy but now i finally understand. Everyone uses it for a different purpose. I have a purpose. I want to document my life, my dance side.

As i grow as a dancer i want to know the things i am going through. I don't mind letting people into my mind--I might talk about my though process about dance is, or how i get ready for certain events, or even if i'm having trouble coming up with choreography. In addition its just another good way to get to know me, my style, the way i dance, and why i dance.

Come on an adventure and grow with me. It starts today
